Letter from Coach Moore

As the end-of year details of the 2016 football season are concluding, I want to mention a few things. We have had several boys honored with awards within our team and outside our team; they are as follows:

Krojhn Calbert: As most of you know by now, Krojhn has committed to play football at the University of Tennessee next season. The recruiting process has been a whirlwind for him as he really burst on the scene this past summer. We are all very happy for Krojhn and will look forward to following his tremendous opportunity.

Hunter Hawkins: Hunter has committed to playing football at Tennessee Tech. Hunter impressed their coaches at a camp held at Tech this summer. The new coach, Marcus Satterfield has brought a ton of energy and enthusiasm to the Tech program.

We have a number of other senior football players who are talking to college coaches but have not yet decided where they will go.

All Region Players: Krojhn Calbert, Ethan Stuart, Hunter Hawkins, Brendan Breedlove, Isaiah Grayson

All Region Honorable Mention: Jaden Crisp, Logan Dyer, Brandon Velazquez, Mitchell Stembridge, McCall Turner

Awards at the football banquet:

Coaches’ Award – Logan Dyer; Pioneer Award for love of the game – Brendan Breedlove; Every Down Award—Justin Holt; Leadership Awards—Mitchell Stembridge and Jacob Rabideau

Congratulations to the freshman/JV team:

Our younger boys did an excellent job this season with a record of 7-1, including scrimmages. They improved every week and learned how to win. A special thanks needs to go to Paul Martin for heading up this team. Many of these boys can become good high school football players. They will need to get stronger, faster, and become better athletes. This can be done in the weight room and/or by participating in another sport. The more our boys compete, the better they will be. We look forward to seeing how they develop as we head into the next football season.

New region alignment and schedule:

We will continue to play Coffee, Cookeville, Blackman, Siegel, Oakland and Riverdale as region games. Smyrna has been moved to another region. Our non-region games will be DeKalb, White Co, Shelbyville, and Fayetteville City High School.

Parents meeting in January (Mandatory): As soon as we get back in January, this will be announced.
