Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the 2016-2017 school year. We are excited at WCHS about the new direction we are heading. This year we are offering WBL (Work Base Learning) and Freshman Focus. WBL will allow our upper CTE classes the opportunity to leave and work in a select area of focus. This will allow the students a chance to experience real life application of what they have learned. In the Freshman focus class our students will take Personal Finance online. This will introduce to the Freshman what it will be like after they graduate and continue their post-secondary education.
A major part of our instruction this year is geared toward the ACT. The ACT is an exam that all students must take before they graduate. It compares the students of Warren County High School with those across the nation. The ACT is what I call the money ball. Students that score 21 or above receive financal help. The higher you score the more money you receive. Our goal is to have a school composite of 21 on the ACT. In meeting this goal we will need support from you and the community to help make this a reality. Again thanks for the opportunity to lead WCHS into a new era. These students and staff are the best!
