The 2017-2018 school year will be my 18th year of teaching. I graduated from Warren County High School in 1995 and went to college at Middle Tennessee State University. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Secondary Education. After graduating college I spent the first 5 years of my teaching career at Gallatin High School in Gallatin, TN. In 2004, I earned my Master's Degree from Cumberland University and I will be starting on my Eds degree at Middle Tennessee State University in the Fall of 2016.
I am from a family of teachers that represent every level of education. Both of my parents were teachers in the Warren County School System. My mom taught at the elementary level at Eastside Elementary School and Bobby Ray Elementary School. She presently teaches at Covenant Academy. My dad taught at the middle school level at Warren County Junior High and Warren County Middle School. He is presently retired and a pastor at a local church. Both of my brothers were high school teachers at Warren County High School, but both presently teach at Covenant Academy as well. My oldest brother teaches math and my other brother teaches science.
I have a real passion for helping my students inside and outside of school. I truly believe that each child has the ability and desire to learn. I will teach all of my students and will hold all of them accountable to what I feel is their best. Over the years I have learned that we, as educators, are teaching our students more than the content of a subject. Teaching, to me, is about trying to prepare our students to enter the next phase of their lives whether it be college or the work force.
