PSAT Ordering for Sophomores and Juniors

Sophomores and Juniors:

The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 8:00am here at WCHS.  The cost to register is $20 - please bring cash or a check made out to Warren County High School.  Registration can be completed in the Learning Lab located in Room 140 with Mr. Chad McGee between now and September 12. No late registrations can be accepted.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. Approximately 3.5 million students take the PSAT/NMSQT each year.​ The scores from the PSAT/NMSQT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program

General Information
Student tickets for Friday’s game will be on sale during lunch for $1.00 on Thursday!

Mayfield Photography will be here this week to take fall pictures.  
9th grade students will have pictures made on Tuesday, September 11 through ACT Prep classes. Wednesday, September 12 will be A Day English classes, Grades 10-11
Thursday, September 13 will be B Day English classes, Grades 10-11 
Dual enrollment students will be able to go into the auditorium at their earliest convenience, as well as all staff, and have pictures taken.

David Schmidt, the Vice Provost at MTSU for International Affairs, is coming to speak with our minority students about college options on 9/12 in the multipurpose room during event schedule. If you have any questions, you may call Leah Simpson at Extension 567.

City of McMinnville Parks & Rec is seeking qualified professionals to referee Youth Basketball Games ($25/hr.) and for scorekeepers for Youth Basketball ($9/hr.) Congratulations / Thank You / Good Luck
Congratulations to the Pioneer Battalion Raider Team. They competed at the Clarkrange Raider Challenge and earned 1st and 2nd place on an event called the Hill Trekker and 3rd place on an event called the Tire Stacker. They finished the day with a 5th place overall out of 25 competing teams. Great job raiders!

Congratulations to Collen Mertz, Jaden Mertz, Kalan Lusk, & Hannah Sanders for an outstanding job at the Tennessee State Fair Hog Show this past weekend. All together they won 11 first place, 10 second place, 8 third place, 5 Grand Champions, and 6 reserve grand champions. And Kalan Lusk won overall showmanship for Junior High level.

It is College Application Week! Seniors, stop by room 1/2 1/2 to get help applying for college. Eddie Lovin from Cumberland University will be here Tuesday, September 18th from 8-12pm to help students apply and give them an "on the spot" admissions decision. He is also waiving the $25 application fee. Wednesday is "Wear Your College Wednesday". Please dress in your college attire/colors!

Congratulations to the Pioneer Raider Team. They competed this weekend at the Fairview HS JROTC Bring the Sting Challenge. They were able to place 4th out of 31 teams bringing home a 3rd place trophy in the rope climbing event and the second team placed 15th climbing the rankings every week. Way to go raiders!

Model UN had a great weekend at the MUN Conference with top papers and honorable mentions on papers. And we got three best Delegates and one Delegate’s choice, the one chosen by his peers.  Our team swept the awards!!

Cross country ran very well at Dekalb area invitational. Freshman Riley Bundy earned a spot in the top 15 and medaled. Senior Spencer Thompson also earned a personal best. 
On the ladies side, Olianada Vazquez and Allison Cunningham raced competitively to represent women well. Way to go Pioneer Cross country.
